My College Bought a Town

My alma mater has long had as one of its claims to fame owning an entire mountian. Not that the general students could do much on it — it is patrolled by guards with automatic weapons. Now I see on CNN that the school will soon own an entire town. Don’t go visit, though — it looks like the guards will be there, too.

  1. Man, I shudder to think what Evan and Sped could have thrown together if they’d had an entire militarily-sealed town to plunder, instead of just one half-shelled boneyard on the side of a mountain. Perhaps whoever is playing the role of Evan in today’s NMT will finally be able to assemble the Breeder Reactor we all looked forward to, back in the day.

Side note: last time I heard anything about Evan he was working as the “canary” on a well-nuked testing atoll in the South Pacific. Anyone heard anything new since? It doesn’t have to be true: Evan stories are even better when they violate the basic laws of physics.

  2. Only $5 million dollars for a town…what a deal!

I also heard recently that Johnny Cash is selling a vacation home for $325,000.

    Such steals!

  3. I just saw Evan get married on Saturday. Peck (sped) was also in attendance:

Evan was working on Johnston Island monitoring the destruction of chemical weapons in the JACADS program:

Now he is going to school in Davis, California and working in a marine biology lab:

Life gets stranger every day :-)
