Yes! As I was mentioning to M in a letter yesterday, the "official" events are becoming more and more in my mind ancillary to the actual reunion. To you're list I would add a visit to oldtown ABQ, a cinnamon role at the Frontier, and a tour of the rebuilt Workman and Wier halls.

Cheers!

To your list I'd add a visit to the grammar checker. What was up with that? :^)

To your list I can add only one thing: Crap, Crap, Crap! How in the hell can I not make the drive. October.. Let's see, if I get four days off and leave directly from work, travelling south at 70MPH, while a train leaves El Paso traveling west at 74MPH, where in the hell is the cow in the pasture where it is supposed to be? It was always there in the past. Mad, Bad Cow!

Gravy fries? Heck, I could play Wiz War over that at home. It's all about the Green Chile Cheese fries. To continue the trend of expanding the list, I'll also throw in Green Chile Bagels at Fred's, a quick visit to the English Department, and an eager voice of support for K. Scott on the Paranoia request (better still: Brittania or Civilization. Sadly, all three are probably logistically unlikely). Do make sure to schedule the ice blocking for the 49ers weekend itself - Lysa has been doubting the existence of this sport for nearly 10 years, now, and needs to be shown.

One more comment -- if you're there for 2 whole weeks, and plan to have arrived by the 17th, the current Tech calendar shows that Arlo Guthrie is playing at Tech that night. Probably you already knew this, but given how much effort you put into trying to get him there all those years, thought I should mention it.

I wasn't grousing...I was just SAYING. I know that the official events don't matter...but I was hoping that they'd HAVE some official events to make the whole thing more festive. Me and the sweetie will arrive in NM Oct 17th for...adding to the list...a visit to Museum of Science and Industry, Old Town in general, Nob Hill (hopefully at least ONE of the old shops will still be there) in ABQ, a comletely unnecessary, yet mandantory, whirlwind tour of Santa Fe, a visit to the two museums in Los Alamos, an amazing gaze from the Los Alamos bridge, a long-ass drive to Arizona for a completely unnecessary, yet mandatory, whirlwind tour of the Grand Canyon...then settling in Socorro sometime on August 23rd for...iceblocking, guaco and bean dip at The Hat, chile relenos at the El Camino (may I sit in on this game of the War that is Wiz? Not THAT Whiz!), a green chile cheeseburger at the Owl Bar (with perchance at stop at the Bosque), a hike to the top of South Baldy (we'll probably cheat and drive most of the way up) for a glimpse of the vantage point of Douglas West's "Evening Song of Water Canyon", a bonfire at Box (with alcohol this time!), and if there is any time at all left, maybe a visit to Kelly Mining Town. Oh, and maybe stopping to get my picture taken by Schlacke.

I think you should add seeing an Oh-My-God horrible movie at the Lobo. Or the Guild, if the Lobo is closed (again). K.Scott, will there be a Rocky that weekend? That'd be fun, too... I'll be celebrating my 10th consecutive 49er's this year. One of the things I remember VIVIDLY is Amy Koerner letting me taste one of her Randy Sours. We should have some of those and B-52's, too.

Sadly, the Lobo is closed as a theater. But it has
become a rather interesting church. As for Rocky, I hadn't planned on one. But the Highland Theater in Alb. is putting on The Rocky Horror Show (that's right, the stage version) Oct 24, 25 and 31. I am
certainly planning on seeing at least one of those shows. Check out http://www.musicaltheatresw.com/
And yes, drinking sounds like a very good idea.
