We are extremely proud of you, especially the fact that you paid your own way. You wanted to go to New Mexico Tech (1100 miles from home and I knew I would miss you dearly),but we said, "go for it."
It is true that you are not doing what your degree is in, but would you be the person you are today if you had? Would we have a great daughter-in-law? Would you be into farming, theater, and cooking? Again, we are proud of who you are and what you have become.

Amen on the votes for attending college...and I didn't even experience HALF of the things that you did during it. Well worth the time and money...well worth it I say...

and all the people you will meet when you go to college, is also worth the adventure. As another veteran of the same school I can say its not the size of the school but how you use it.
