MCs on Parade

My latest music genre of choice is Nerdcore Hiphop. It all started a couple of years ago when I found the Mighty Stephen Hawking’s gansta rap. And then late last year I ran across MC Chris, one of the creative forces behind the often wonderful, always bizarre Sealab 2021. But what I’ve been listening to over and over again the last week or so is MC Frontalot, the master of the genre. He’s done a duet with Kompressor and one is on the way with MC Hawking. This guy is where it’s at.

  1. I LOVE MCChris! Cort and I listened to it quite a bit on the way to Pheonix. My favorite is “Fette’s Vette”.

  2. I’d read about them, but haven’t found it anywhere I can listen to. But I want to! There’s a whole Pink Floyd bluegrass cover band — this may be the same band — that has done covers of many of Pink’s tunes.

  3. Well…if you have time after the berry pickins done tonight, you can see said band playing live in Madison tonight…a mere 20 or so hours down the road…

  4. How about this for a new music genre: “A bluegrass version of Pink Floyd’s The Wall. It’s the brainchild of Luther Wright & the Wrongs, whose new CD, Rebuild the Wall, transports the teddibly British rock opera to the back porch with a banjo and a washboard and even barnyard animals a’brayin’.” (stolen from The Isthmus)
