The papers are signed: We have bought the farm.

More later…

  1. Hey! That’s great! But what about the wedding?! That’s what I’ve been waiting to read about.

  2. As good as the news is…something about reading that you “bought the farm” just sounds wrong…I think I prefer “purchased the farm”.

  3. I dunno. “buying the farm” sounds like a good description of getting married. ;)

Of course, your opinion may differ. :p

  4. I’d have to agree with M… the whole “bought the farm” thing reminds me of a time my mom bought some land (she calls her house the cat farm because she’s got 6 cats) and then sent out an email saying “Ratty (our oldest cat) bought the farm”… I started crying until I realized she was joking and was talking about the land. :)

  5. It occurs to me now that, in fact, a non-sexist person might assume that Eric also could be the cow. Mmmm…free milk…

(A reminder here of my long-time affection for cows…purely platonic, of course).

  6. I thought getting married was “buying the cow”…ya know, “why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free…”(metaphorically of course, there is no implication here that Chris is a cow…she’s a hot babe!)

  7. Congrats all around! I’m so proud of you!

  8. Hey! I just thought of good (well…) pickup line for the bars I don’t go to.

“Could I be the cow in your barnyard of life?!” ;)
