I have been toying with building a bread oven--heaven knows I have no shortage of rocks to work with--are instructions of some sort available? I plan to do this shortly after I train my team of oxen, rehabilitate our soil, etc...etc...etc...;-)

There's a wonderful cheap book I ordered off Amazon that tells how to do everything, including testing the clay on your land for sand content so you know how to mix it for proper strength. The author is big into scavenging materials, such as "urbanite" (busted up concrete from construction sites) for the pedestal, though your plan to use local rocks sounds nice. There's some great photos in there as well.
